Ubichem Research operates from two different locations in Budapest. Process research, small scale API work and radiolabelling are carried out in Buda, where we have labs within the Institute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences. The development and kilo labs, the pilot plant and main office buildings are in Pest.
All our Buda research labs are controlled-access standard prep labs, typically accommodating 4 people. We also have two analytical labs, and commissioned a new Class 100,000 cGMP API lab here in September 2006. Another 3 new labs dedicated to Radiolabelling work (3H and 14C) plus an additional analytical lab dedicated tom this unit was commissioned in September 2007, building on the range of services we are able to offer.
The 8000m3 Pest site was commissioned in 2002 and it is here that all the larger scale work takes place - process labs, a kilo lab and pilot plant. A major capacity expansion is currently underway - adding another 18,000m3, along with additional drying capability. We have ambitious plans for the site, including adding more kilo lab capacity, labs and warehousing.
Ubichem Research achieved a major milestone in the history of the company, when in March 2007 we were audited by the Hungarian Regulatory authority (OGYI) for supply of a commercial API.
